Merits

Mr. Chris Poteet began his martial arts journey in 2003. He currently holds the rank of 6th (A-6-177) Degree Black Belt and is certified by the International Taekwon-Do Federation. In 2008 he and his family were
awarded the ITF “Family of the Year”. Shortly after, in 2009, they opened their own club, Poteet Martial Arts, aka “Poteet Posse”.

Achievements

Mr. Poteet has won many awards during his martial arts career. Mr. Poteet completed his Umpire’s Class B certification in 2011 and Class A in 2018 and continues to annually maintain his status. Mr. Poteet was selected as an Umpire at the 2023 ITF World Championships in Tempere, Finland. He is also a current member of the ITF America Ethics Committee.

Mr. Poteet served as one of the 2015 ITF Team USA Coaches and Managers for the ITF World Championships in Jesolo, Italy. In 2017, he served as one of the ITF Team USA Coaches and coached the Junior Men’s Team in Dublin, Ireland. In 2019, Mr. Chris Poteet once again served as one of the 2019 ITF Team USA Coaches and Managers, and coached the Senior Men’s Team in Inzell, Germany. Mr. Chris Poteet was head Coach for Team Poteet Posse at the 2022 World Cup in Slovenia.

Career

For the past 15 years he and his wife have owned and operated one of the most successful ITF clubs in Texas, Poteet Martial Arts, aka “The Poteet Posse”. Currently, the Posse has 47 National Champion Titles and 23 International medals from ITF World Cups and ITF World Championships since 2013. He has traveled teaching seminars at other clubs encouraging others to be more competitive.
